Ashley and Adam live in San Francisco and planned for a spectacular destination wedding on a Mendocino bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It turned out to be a gorgeously overcast day and the ocean view was a sea of fog. Some people might call this kind of  weather “gloomy,” but we find it to be absolutely magical. Cuffey’s Cove Ranch is a historical coastal ranch and includes a large historic farmhouse for preparations and a restored barn for an elegant and rustic wedding reception; a quintessential Mendocino barn wedding.

The belladonna were in full bloom and make for an extra beautiful fall season in Mendocino.

The front room of the old farmhouse was the perfect setting for their first look. I love their soft expressions of excitement and relief to finally be together on their wedding day.

Adam shares a hug with his mom before the ceremony while his father smiles behind them; I love how all three of them are in this photo and with genuine smiles.

Guests sit on mismatched chairs, provided by Cuffey’s Cove, and wait for the ceremony to begin.

They had a bunch of fun lawn (drinking) games to keep their guests entertained (and warm).

It ain’t a barn wedding without a gentleman in a cowboy hat smoking a cigar.

Happy guests are the best guests.

We love how the barn and twinkly lights made for such beautiful backdrops.

Holy cow (pun intended) the fresh food prepared on the spot by Green Markets Inc. was so delicious!

The cookies they served were from a special family recipe; I heard excited “these are Gran’s cookies!!” as I made my way over to try one.
